It is with great sadness that the family of the late Madonna Hynes (nee. Jones) announce her passing after a lengthy battle with cancer, on Sunday, January 28th, 2024 at the Corner Brook Palliative Care Unit in her 85th year of age. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: David (Mercedes), Kevin (Doreen), Mary (Ambrose), Paulina (Domingos), Darren (friend, Peggy), John (Susan), Sheila (Ronnie), and Terrance (Karen); grandchildren: Tracey, Jennifer, Penney, Ambrose, Ryan, Shawn, Nolan, Pamela, Justin, Nicholas, Samantha, Katie, Jonathan, and Joshua; great-grandchildren: Jessica, Kaitlin, Maddy, Scarlett, Mitchell, Maci, Winter, Sammy, Chloe, Kian, Neveah, Oceanna, Spencer, Tate, Shana, Allie-Rae, Sam, Rory, Nora, Emmy, and Aleah; great-great-grandchildren: Richard, and Margot; sister: Melinda, Gladys, Sylvia, Doris, Hilda, and Pauline; and brothers: Fred, and Gusie; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends from over the years.

Madonna is predeceased by her parents: Joe and Dorothy Jones; brothers: Bill, Kevin, Pat, Lloyd, Reg, Hughie; sisters: Eileen, and Una; daughter-in-law: Frances; and grandson: Rocky Hynes.

There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place on Thursday, February 1, 2024 at 10 AM in the Country Haven Chapel with Bishop Bart van Roijen officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Madonna's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
