December 28, 1922 – April 23, 2023
It is with great sadness that family of the late Mabel Hurley announce her passing on Sunday, April 23 rd , 2023 at the Western Long Term Care Unit in her 100 th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Wilson Hurley (Joanne), Jean Peddle (Bruce), John Hurley (Gloria), Douglas Hurley (Judy), Anthony "Tony" Hurley (Julia); sister: Emma Boone; sister-in-law: Olive Gillard; special friend: Kay Hurley; grandchildren: Shelley Northcott (Terry), Susan Whitten (Tom), Deborah Hann (Todd), Angela Peddle, Wilson Hurley (Roxanne), Paula Hurley, Stephen Hurley (Samantha), Maelyn Hurley (Dane), Kyla Costello, and Jada Costello; great-grandchildren: Jessica MacDonald, Brandon MacDonald, Mark Northcott, Tyler Whitten, Kyle Whitten, Melissa Hann, Alexander Hann, Nathan Hann, Christopher Norman (Nicole), Logan Hurley, Mackenzie Hurley, Sophia Hurley, and Emma Costello; great-great-grandchildren: Sakura, Malikai, and Atlas Norman; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Mabel is predeceased by her husband, Ray Hurley; parents: Soloman and Laura Dawe; brothers and their spouses: Donald Dawe (Bertha), Joe Dawe (Ida), Laurie Dawe (Gwen); sisters and their spouses: Verlie Reccord (Doug), and Evelyn Caines (Jim); sister-in-law: Florence Mercer, Shirley Elliott; and brother-in-law: Grenfell Boone.
There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, April 25 th , 2023 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, April 26 th , 2023 at 2 PM at the Oakland United Church with Rev. Alice Moores officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Mabel's memory to a charity of one's choice.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the Western Health Long Term Care-Nature's Haven 3 rd floor unit for their love and compassion, and for the great care provided for our mother; especially the wonderful comfort they provided up until her passing.
