Lorne
Marshall
July 3, 1963 – September 27, 2024
It is with profound sadness that the family of the late Lorne Marshall announce his sudden passing at the age of 61 at the G.B. Cross Memorial hospital in the early hours of September 27, 2024.
Lorne was born in Corner Brook to Frank and Emily Marshall on July 3, 1963 and lived there for 45 years. He was the youngest of six children.
At the age of 18, he met his soulmate and the love of his life, Paulette Green. Two years later, on July 28, 1984, they were married. Lorne and Paulette didn't have any children of their own but he was a cherished uncle to his nieces and nephews who loved him deeply and he treasured every moment he spent with them. In 2010, he moved to Goobies where he spent his remaining years helping Paulette lovingly care for her parents.
Where there was Lorne, there was laughter, a constant source of entertainment. He always had a joke at the ready and was known among his family and friends for his quick wit and sense of humor that filled every moment with warmth and joy.
One of Lorne's passions was cars. The amount of knowledge he held for the classic muscle cars of the 60's and 70's was staggering. He couldn't be stumped on any question about them. However, his material pride and joy was his BMW Roadster. He kept it pristine.
Lorne's heart was as full of music as it was of laughter. He was an incredible singer and drummer, who spent many years serving the Lord through these gifts. From his early 20s, drumming with the Christian band Soldier, up through his adult years, playing in church and as a soloist throughout the province, including being a guest on Heart Matters, music ministry was a cornerstone of his faith. His faith was the foundation of his life, and his unwavering love for God was evident in the kindness and generosity he carried with him. He was carefree, content, and never worried about anything but instead put his trust in his Savior.
He was larger than life and made a lasting impression on whomever he met.
Lorne is predeceased by his parents, Frank and Emily Marshall and sisters Jane Marshall and Ida Blackwood and mother-in-law Janie Green.
He leaves with fond and loving memories his devoted wife 40 years: Paulette; brothers; Jerry (Jocelyn), Albert (Joan) and Cyril (Elaine); sisters-in-law Norma (Delmer) and Linda (Steve); brothers-in-law Jeff (Wanece) and Trevor (Carmela), many nieces and nephews and a large circle of extended family and friends. His legacy of love, faith, music, and laughter will live on in the hearts of those who love him.
Public Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road, Corner Brook, on Sunday, September 29, from the hours of 7:00 P.M. - 9:00 P.M. Pastor Jeffrey Green will conduct the Celebration of Life Service from First Pentecostal Church, 58 Premier Dr, Corner Brook, on Monday, September 30th at 2:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery, 42 N Shore Hwy, Corner Brook. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by request.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ryan Peddle of Fogo Island Funeral Home.
