Obituary

It with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Lori Louise Hann on April 26, 2026 at the Palliative Care Unit, surrounded by her loving family.

Lori will forever be remembered by her sons Jordan (Jonathan), Tyler (Rayna); brother Todd (Deborah); niece Melissa; nephews Alexander and Nathan; special (sister) cousins Vickie and Tena; along with many close family and friends.

Lori was predeceased by her parents Franklin and Madonna Hann; grandparents William and Jessie Hann; grandparents Joseph and Violet Dean; along with special aunts, uncles and cousins.

Lori will always be remembered for the joy, laughter and love that she brought into the lives of those around her. She had a vibrant spirit and a deep appreciation for life’s simple pleasures.

She loved gathering around the table to play cards, especially Queens, where her laughter and playful competitiveness made every game memorable.

She found happiness on the open road, sharing countless road trips with her special cousins. Together, they chased adventures from seeking out icebergs, haunted houses, and graveyards, only some of which were most rewarding to her. It wasn’t just the destination that she loved but the moments in between, the jokes that made them laugh until they cried and the conversations that continued long after the car stopped, which usually ended in a feed of Chinese food somewhere.

She had a special love for the sounds of the 80’s, often to be seen quietly lip-syncing along. The voices of Elvis Presley, Dwight Yoakam and Abba were among her favorites. No matter what the song was, there was always a memory attached and some nostalgic piece of information that she would share.

Lori was also known, lovingly, as a bit of a “bossy boss” especially when it came to her cousins. With her strong personality and quick wit, she kept everyone in line, often with a smile and a spark that made it impossible not to love her for it. Her presence was felt in every room that she entered, and she had a way of making sure things were done her way, still making everyone laugh along the way.

In her final weeks, she found a special kind of joy in the vibrant, unapologetic world of RuPaul’s Drag Race. It wasn’t just a show to her-it was a celebration of creativity, resilience, and the courage to be oneself. She delighted in every dazzling runway, every heartfelt story, and every moment of laughter it brought her. Even as her world grew smaller, that sparkle

never faded. In those moments, surrounded by color and charisma, she reminded us of the beauty of embracing life with boldness, heart and acceptance.

She treasured the simple, meaningful moments she shared with her brother Todd, especially their visits that always seemed to center around laughter, conversations and their mutual love of Chinese food. Their visits were always about connection; stories told from past and present and the bond of just spending the time together.

Her greatest pride and most cherished accomplishment in life was being a mother to her two boys, Jordan and Tyler. She loved them with a depth that words can hardly capture, pouring her heart into every moment she shared with them-from guiding them through life’s challenges to celebrating their every success, big or small. They were her purpose, her joy and her legacy. She carried that love with her in everything she did. In the lives of Jordan and Tyler, her strength, kindness, stubbornness at times, and devotion will continue to live on, a lasting reflection of the incredible mother that she was.

Lori’s family extends heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff at Palliative Care who surrounded Lori with such compassion, dignity and kindness during her final weeks. Their gentle presence, attentive care, and unwavering support brought comfort not only to her, but to all of us who loved her. In moments that were often difficult, they offered reassurance, patience, laughter and humanity that will never be forgotten. We are especially grateful to her many doctors, whose guidance and dedication ensured Lori’s comfort and peace. Their care made an immeasurable difference, and we will always carry a deep appreciation for the warmth and respect they showed her.

To her Bungalow Crew at Protective Community Residence #1, we want to acknowledge their incredible love and support they showed Lori over the years that she called the bungalows home. It was always a place where she felt safe, respected and truly cared for. Through every day, whether it be ordinary or challenging, they stood by her with warmth and understanding, forming bonds that meant so much to her and to her family.
