It is with profound sadness the family of the late Leonard Michael Hanlon regrettably announce his sudden passing at home on September 26th 2026 at the age of 67 years. Born in St. John’s and residing in Corner Brook since 2007.
Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife; Joan (nee Meade). His son; David (Leanne). Grandchildren; Caleb, Slade and Aria. Step-son; Shayne Meade (Amy). Brother; Jerry (Cindy). Sisters; Tish (Cyril) Drover, Beth Jones, Sharon (Gerald) Crickard. Brothers-in-law; Pat Meade and Eugene Meade. Sisters-in-law; Ruth (Andy) Smith, Irene Meade, Doris Meade, and Janet Scott, as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and many friends.
He is predeceased by his mother and father, Joan and Gerald. Brothers; David and Jim. Parents-in-law; Stan and Mary Meade. Brothers-in-law; Peter, Dermot and Gerald.
He will be missed by his friends at Kent in Corner Brook, where he worked from 2007-2020. He bedazzled us many times with his many tunes on the guitar and accordion. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank the paramedics and RNC officers, and Country Haven Funeral Home for their kindness and professionalism in our time of need.
There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Leonard’s memory to the Katie Sullivan Instrument Library www.instrumentlibrary.ca A celebration of Leonard’s life will take place in St. John’s at a later date.
