Leo Charles
Park
April 3, 1942 – March 5, 2023
It is with heavy hearts that our family announces the passing of a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, Leo Charles Park, early in the morning on Sunday, March 5 th , 2023, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital. Leo passed surrounded by the ones he loved the most.
To know Leo was to love him. Leo was arguably the core of our large family. When he was in the room, you always find yourself gravitated towards him. Leo was a social butterfly who loved to tell stories and spend all his time with his friends and family. He brought a sense of comfort to all who loved him. Leo had a great sense of humor and loved to make you laugh. He loved his Sunday morning drives followed by a nice nap on the couch after jigs dinner before his Sunday beers. In his spare time, he always enjoyed being in the woods hunting or out on the water fishing. The way to Leo's heart was a good, sweet candy or an ice-cold Budweiser. Leo was surrounded by a big group of family and friends who he thought the absolute world over. His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were his pride and joy, the easiest way to put a smile on his face was to see one of them.
Leo leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his wife of 52 years, Maxine (née Brake) and children, Cynthia (Norman), Chad (Janet), Tammy (Reginald) and Tanya (Curt); His grandchildren, Lisa-Marie, Johnny, Vanessa, Lindsey (Evan), Courtney, Kaylee (Zachary), Kyle, Noah, Brady, Brandon and R.J; His great grandchildren, Taylor, Thomas, Lilly and Chase; Brother , Austin (Susie); Sister , Betty; Brother-in-law , Jerry Brake (Mary); Sisters-in-law , Daisy Park, Mary Brake, Violet Young, Alma O'Keefe (Phil), Linda Quehe (Bill) and Verna Brake; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Leo is predeceased by his parents Richard and Christine Park; Mother-in-law , Elizabeth Brake; Siblings , Doreen (Silas), Donald (Nettie), Eva (Chesley), and Lowell; Half siblings , Ben, George, Diana, Elizabeth, Olive and Ann; Brother-in-law , Jack Morgan, Roy Brake, William Brake, John Brake (Anna), Larry Barry.
Our family would like to send gratitude to the wonderful nurses, doctors and health care team on 3B at Western Memorial Regional Hospital for their compassionate care over the past week. Also, to Country Haven Funeral home for working with us during this difficult time.
As per Leo's request, a visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 7 th , 2023 from 7-9 PM and on Wednesday, March 8 th , 2023 from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the Epiphany Church in McIvers, from where the funeral service will take place on Thursday, March 9 th , 2023 at 2 PM with Rev. Terry Loder officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery in McIvers. As expressions of sympathy, a donation can be made in Leo's memory to the Children's Wish Foundation or Janeway Children's Hospital.
