It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kevin Michael Cantwell announce his passing at the Palliative Care Unit of Western Memorial Regional Hospital in Corner Brook, NL. on December 10, 2025. Son of the late Joseph and Angela Cantwell (nee McCarthy) of Corner Brook.

Kevin leaves to mourn -with fond memories- his eight children;  Angela, Donna, Shirley (Scott), Bill (Chantelle), Walter (Lisa), Sylvia (Dave), April (Chris), Michael (Pascale), 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, and five remaining siblings; Maria Dicks (the late Vincent Dicks), Reginald Cantwell (Nora), Ursula Anstey (David), Sylvia Hiscock (Lindy), Elizabeth Cantwell (Bruce Taylor). His cousin Jim Cantwell (Anita) and aunt Myrtle McCarthy.

Kevin will be dearly missed by his sisters-in-law; Doreen, Lois (Claude), also Josephine (Dave), Betty, Edna (Gerald) and brothers-in-law; Henry (Betty), William, Llewellyn (Nancy), and nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

Kevin was predeceased on December 23, 2024 by his loving wife Brenda (Park) Cantwell, his mother-in-law; Myrtle (nee Coates) and father-in-law; Henry Park. His sisters; Ellen and Sandra. Brothers; Joseph and Thomas, and three infant siblings.

Kevin grew up in Corner Brook and worked at Bowaters Mill until he moved to Saint John NB, then to Ontario and for many years worked in Prince Rupert BC. He returned to his home of Newfoundland upon retirement and settled into York Harbour. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a great dart player who won many tournaments in his younger years. Kevin also loved to dance, sing and play guitar and would always play a tune whenever friends would gather.

We, the family, would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of the staff, doctors, nurses, and healthcare professionals of Western Memorial Hospital who provided such excellent care to our dad over the course of the past year.

In meeting with Kevin's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be visitation and prayers held at Country Haven Funeral Home on Thursday, December 18, 2025 from 2-4PM. As expressions of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada.
