It is with great sadness the family of the late Kenneth "poppy Ken" Parsons Simmonds announce his passing on February 22nd 2026 at the Palliative Care Unit in Corner Brook in his 72nd year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his partner of 36 years, Hazel Bellows. His children; Adam Bellows and Mellissa Bellows (Todd). His grandchildren; Brianna and Shae-Lynn. His great grandson; Weston.  Ken is predeceased by his parents; Jim and Muriel Simmonds. His brothers; Jim and Guy and his sister; Anne. As well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends and his furry friend Milo the cat. Ken dearly loved his family, but his grandchildren and great grandson were his pride and joy. They were his number one. Ken spent time in the outdoors, hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed backyard campfires with his family and friends where many memories were made. There will be a visitation at Country Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday February 25th 2026 from 1-3pm, from where the funeral will take place at 3PM in the Country Haven Chapel with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Flowers are graciously accepted. The family would like to offer a special thank-you to the doctors and nurses of 4B at Western Memorial Regional Hospital and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Long Term Care Facility, Corner Brook for their kindness and care toward Ken during his stay with them.
