Obituary

It is with great sadness that the family of the late Kathleen "Kitty" Mavis Park (nee. Mollon) announce her peaceful passing on July 28, 2025 at the Western Long-Term Palliative Care Unit, at the age of 83 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Dale (Valerie), Colleen (Gord), and Jennifer (Jason); grandchildren: Joanna, Crystal, Joshua (Hailey), and Alison (Mitchell); great-grandchildren: Carrie, Addisyn, Reece, and Macy; brothers: Derek (Marilyn), and Gary (Phyllis); sister-in-law: Marilyn Park; and brother-in-law: Michael Chaffey; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Kitty was predeceased by her husband: Lloyd Park; special friend: Raymond Gilbert; infant daughter: Beverly Ann; parents: Hayward and Stella Mollon; parents-in-law: David and Florence Park; brother-in-law: Eric Park; sister-in-law: Margaret Chaffey; and grandson-in-law: Trevor Childs.

Kitty was a devoted Christian and a member of the ACW in Lark Harbour. She loved being involved with the church and helping anywhere she could. She thought of everyone. At Christmas time in her younger years, she would make baked goods and deliver them around the community to the lonely, sick, or the ones that could no longer do it themselves. This was always done discreetly as she never wanted praise or recognition for being who she really was, one of God's followers. She lived her life simply and humbly, and always put others first. We will miss you dearly mom, nan, sister, and friend.

The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Western Long-Term Palliative Care unit for the exceptional care that was provided to Kitty during her time of need. Also, to the staff and residents of the Lohne's Complex, where Kitty resided for nine months; thank you as well for all the kindness and support offered, and for the many phone calls checking in to see how she was doing.

There will be a visitation taking place on Wednesday, July 30, 2025 from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at the St. James Anglican Church, Lark Harbour, NL, from where the funeral service will take place at 2 PM on Thursday, July 31, 2025 with Rev. Effie Organ officiating. Interment to follow at church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Kitty's memory to the St. James Anglican Church fund.
