Obituary

We are deeply saddened to announce the sudden passing of our beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend; June Frances King.

At the age of 62, June fell asleep in death surrounded by loved ones on Wednesday, March 20th, 2024.

She was born on June 20th, 1961 to Lloyd & Mildred Walbourne in Corner brook, NL. Her childhood was characterized by homemade root beer, onion rings and ice cream. Growing up, she cherished her visits with her grandparents. She was one of nine siblings, all of whom she treasured and loved so dearly.

June met Bill when she was 17 years old, and they were married on July 23rd, 1983. On December 25th, 1984, they were overjoyed to welcome their beautiful baby boy, Matthew, to the world. She was a proud mom. Her love and affection for her family were constantly evident throughout each day.

From a young age, she developed her love of Jehovah God and dedicated her life to him by way of baptism on May 8th, 1982 in Deer lake, NL. Her love of people was evident as her warmth always brightened the room. She will be remembered for her smile, laugh, and gentle spirit filled with love.

June is predeceased by her parents: Lloyd & Mildred Walbourne; and her brother: Darrell.

She leaves to mourn with cherished memories, her husband of 40 years: Bill King; their son and daughter-in-law: Matthew and Katherine King; sisters: Lois Caravan (late husband Jamie), Shirley Diamond (Lloyd), Millie Bridal (Alan), Kim Ellery (late husband Rob), and Pamela Walbourne (Jamie); her brothers: Lloyd Walbourne, and Steve Walbourne (Teresa); parents-in-law: Bill and Joan King; sister-in-law: Tammy Harding (Chuck).; as well as her nieces and nephews: Brandi, Alan, Sacha, Bronson, Ryan, Chelsea, Michayla, Riley and Emma.

We long for the day Jehovah awakens her from her sleep so we can be reunited with her forever. Until then, we hold her close in our hearts and find comfort in knowing she is in Jehovah's memory.

The family of June would like to express their deep appreciation to the ICU Staff at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital for their wonderful and professional care. To the many friends and family who called, messaged, visited, and sent food – Your kind thoughts and expressions of sympathy will never be forgotten. We are all eternally grateful for your love and support.

Visitation with the family will be held from 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Wednesday, March 27th at Country Haven Funeral Home.

A Memorial service will be held at 2pm on Thursday, March 28th, 2024 at the local Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses (163 Premier Dr, Corner Brook, NL) and on Zoom, with officiant Peter Philp.

Song 151 - He Will Call

Life, like a mist, appears for just a day,

Then disappears tomorrow.

All that we are can quickly fade away,

Replaced with tears and sorrow.

If a man should die, can he live again?

Hear the promise God has made:

(CHORUS)

He will call; The dead will answer.

They will live at his command.

For he will have a longing

For the work of his own hand.

So have faith, and do not wonder,

For our God can make us stand.

And we will live forever,

As the work of his own hand.

Friends of our God, though they may pass away,

Will never be forsaken.

All those asleep who in God's mem'ry stay,

From death he will awaken.

Then we'll come to see all that life can be:

Paradise eternally.

(CHORUS)

He will call; The dead will answer.

They will live at his command.

For he will have a longing

For the work of his own hand.

So have faith, and do not wonder,

For our God can make us stand.

And we will live forever,

As the work of his own hand
