It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joy Marie Brake announce her passing at her private residence in Corner Brook, NL on Saturday, November 16th, 2024 at the age of 60 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Christa Joseph (Richard), Patrick Joseph, and Donald Joseph (Georgia); grandchildren: Virginia, Skylar, Isaiah, Chloe, Claire, Londyn, Lyviah, Alex, and Sawyer-James; brothers and sisters: Judy (Don), Donna (Glen), Brian (Ruby), and Glenn; and her niece and nephews; Brianna, Troy, Scott, Stephen, and Kody; as well as a large circle of other relatives, and many friends.

Joy is predeceased by her parents: Wilfred and Joan Brake; grandbaby: Leo-James; and her brother: Don Brake.

Cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Joy's memory to a charity of one's choice.

Our mom Joy, or "mudder" as we called her, was also known as grand-mudder, a sister, and a friend. She was one heck of a woman! She's been through hell, and fought like a warrior, but now the fight is done. She's left a mark on many, and will always be remembered for her generosity, her bluntness, and the love she had for her family. We will carry her with us in the everything we will do, and deep in our hearts, and we will cherish all the memories of the time we had with her. No more suffering mom. May you finally be at peace.
