It is with great sadness that the family of the late Cornelius Joseph "Joe" Bennett announce his passing on Tuesday, March 5th, 2024 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital in his 90th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 65 years: Myra Bennett (nee. Young); sister-in-law: Lorraine Locke, and her children: Conway (Paulette), Michelle, Beverley, and Michael (Donna); other sisters-in-law: Cora Hann, and Eva Young; as well as a large circle of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends.

Joe is predeceased by his mother: Pearl Locke; step-father: Albert Locke; brother: Gordon Locke; and his sisters and brothers-in-law: Roy Young (Elsie), Maxwell Young (Dora), Emma Higdon (Noah), Ruby Parsons (Bill), Rex Young, Florence Locke (James); and George Hann.

There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, March 6th, 2024 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place in the Country Haven Chapel on Thursday, March 7th, 2024 at 11 AM with Rev. Mickton officiating. Interment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery in Birchy Head, Bonne Bay. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Joe's memory to your local SPCA.
