It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joseph Edmund Bourgeois announce his passing on Friday, May 13th, 2022, at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, Corner Brook, NL at the age of 84 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories; his children: Douglas Bennett (Donna Ozon), Raymond Bourgeois, Carol Ann Bourgeois (Eric Blackwood), Anne Marie Keeping (Sean), Paulette LeRoy (Douglas) and Joseph (Jr.) Bourgeois; 19 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren; two brothers: Bernard Bourgeois and Kevin Bourgeois; son-in-law: Patrick LeRoy; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Joseph is predeceased by his wife: Mary Florence Bourgeois (2007); and daughter: Lillian LeRoy. As per Joseph's wishes, cremation has taken place. A visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 18th, 2022 from the hours of 2:00PM - 4:00PM and 7:00PM - 9:00PM. The funeral service will take place at Our Lady Star of the Sea, Roman Catholic Church, Benoit's Cove, NL on Thursday, May 19th, 2022, at 10:30AM with Father Jim Robertson officiating. Interment to take place at the Church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, there are no flowers by request. Those wishing to make a memorial donation, may do so to a charity of one's choice. The family is requesting that masks be worn at the visitation and funeral services.
