Nancy, Stacey and Elizabeth would like to extend a heartfelt Thank You to those who have brought us such comfort at this very difficult time. We would like to thank everyone who visited, sent food and cards, and made donations in John's name. Every act of kindness and compassion is very much appreciated. We would like to give special thanks to John's Stan Dawe Ltd work family for their overwhelming support and comfort; this includes his coworkers, clients and customers. It is with heavy hearts that the family of the late John Edward Blackwood announce his sudden passing at his private residence, on August 4th, 2024 at the age of 62 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, the love of his life: Nancy Jones; daughters: Stacey, and Elizabeth (Greg); brothers: Terry (Barbara), Wayne (Sylvia), Randy (Helen), and Brian (Margie); sisters: Brenda, and Elaine (Robert); brothers-in-law: Don (Sheila), and Martin (Jackie); sister-in-law: Judy; and mother-in-law: Rose (Dennis); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

John is predeceased by his parents: Henry and Carmel Blackwood.

At his request, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation held on Thursday, August 8th, 2024 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place on Friday, August 9th, 2024 at 11 AM in the Country Haven Chapel with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in John's memory to the Ronald McDonald House.
