It is with great sadness that the family of the late John Reginald Barnes announce his passing at Western Long Term, Palliative Care Unit on Saturday, July 30 ^th , 2022 at the age of 68 years.

Leaving to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 48 years: Wanda Barnes; children: Martin (Charlene), Trina (Todd), and Charlie (Serena); grandchildren: Zachary (Tori), Ryan, Lilly (Christopher), Hannah, and Chloe; siblings: Loretta, Harold (Bernice), Elaine (Taylor), Monica (Harrison), Darlene (Murray), Michael (Lawrence), and Charlotte (Bradley); mother-in-law: Shirley Payne; sisters-in-law: Alvina (Max), Marina (Rod), Yvonne (Ron), Emily (Jason), Winnifred (Oscar), and Nancy (Ramsey); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

John was predeceased by his mother: Martha Barnes (2011); father: Reginald Barnes (1963); sister: Rowena Morgan (2008); brother: Kevin Barnes (1992); father-in-law: Cyril Payne (2009); and nephew: Benjamin Gillingham (2022).

Visitation is scheduled to take place at St. Nicholas Anglican church, Cox's Cove, on Monday, August 1 ^st , 2022, and Tuesday, August 2 ^nd , 2022 from the hours of 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. & 7:00 – 9:00 p.m.

A funeral service will take place at St. Nicholas Anglican church, Cox's Cove, on Wednesday, August 3 ^rd , 2022 at 2:00 p.m. with Rev. Terry Loder officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery.

There will be no flowers by request. Those wishing to make a memorial donation in John's memory, may do so to a charity of one's choice.
