Jocelyn Mary
Wadden
May 6, 1961 – September 21, 2024
It is with extreme sorrow that the family of the late Jocelyn Mary Wadden announce her sudden passing at home in Corner Brook, NL on Saturday, September 21st, 2024.
She leaves two mourn with fond and loving memories, her soulmate and partner: Harold Dean Batstone; her daughter: Callie Jane (Hugo); son: Sean Anthony (Heather); her precious grandson: Roman; her older brother; nieces: Shelly, Kaleigh, and Emily; and nephew: Jonathan; as well as many cousins, other relatives, and a large circle of friends.
Jocelyn is predeceased by her parents: Anthony and Shirley Wadden (nee. White); and brother: Justin.
Jocelyn was born in Port aux Basque to parents Anthony "Tony" and Shirley Wadden. Jocelyn left home at 17 after graduating high school to pursue training at the College of Trades and Technology in St. John's as a printer. She then moved to Halifax and worked there until moving her career to Labrador City where she worked with the Aurora newspaper.
Jocelyn lived with a chronic disease with dignity and a fierce spirit. Living independently as a single mother with her two precious children. She loved the Lord and praised him every day. She drew strength from his word. Jocelyn was filled with compassion and generosity. She supported a variety of causes that aim to help people and animals. We would listen for people in trouble and try to help in a small way. Many donations were made to organizations and individuals to try and help lift spirits and help people along there way. Jocelyn felt very deeply that people should support one another. Jocelyn was also a loyal member of the Royal Canadian Legion and the Canadian Council of the Blind.
There will be a private visitation taking place on Monday, September 30th, 2024 at 1 PM at Country Haven Funeral Home from where the funeral service will take place at 2 PM in the Country Haven Chapel with Major Brian Wheeler officiating. Cremation to follow. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Jocelyn's memory to a charity of one's choice.
We are heartbroken that Jocelyn is gone from us, but we are comforted knowing her beautiful, generous spirit lives on in heaven.
