It is with great sadness that the family of the late Joan Emmie Johnson (nee. Batten) announce her peaceful passing on Sunday, January 12th, 2025 at the Bow Valley Nursing Home, Calgary, AB, at the age of 89 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: Debra Hope (Geoffrey-deceased) of Airdrie, AB, Todd (Kim), and Paul (Marilyn, both of Cobourg, ON; grandchildren: Ian (Sarah), Meaghan (Steve), and Mikaela (William); great-greatgrandchildren: Maddox, and Wesley; siblings: Verna Hickey, Marion Wells, Don (Minette), and Austin (Marg); sister-in-law: Wanda Dalley (Alan); brothers-in-law: Major Frank (Jean), and Wayne (Donna); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Joan is predeceased by her husband: Robert Johnson; parents: Donald and Blanche Batten; sister: Evelyn; and brothers: Raymond, Bruce, and Jerry.

As per Joan's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. An interment will be held at a later date at the United Cemetery, Pasadena, NL. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Joan's memory to a charity of one's choice.
