Mom, or "Nanny Guy", had an overwhelming love for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her family was truly her whole life. Everything she done was totally out of love. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life and always put a smile on her face. Mom was known as a very hard worker, whether she was at the cabin in Howley or the laundry dept at the hospital. She's also known for her homemade bread, cabbage rolls, date squares, and cinnamon buns.
A very special thank you to Pill, Marilyn, and Judy for their support during this very difficult time. Pill, you made us laugh and also held us when we cried.
Also, a special thank you to Dr. Birender Wadhwa, for who she thought so much of, for his utmost care and compassion for mom and also a special thank you to the Palliative Care Team.
At her request, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation held on Sunday, September 17th, 2023 from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM from where the funeral service will take place on Monday, September 18th, 2023 in the Country Haven Chapel at 11 AM with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Joan's memory to the Make a Wish Foundation.
