It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Martin Hynes announce his peaceful passing at his residence in Irishtown, NL on October 2, 2023, in his 80th year. He leaves to mourn his son: Dale, of Ontario; Terry of Calgary; daughter: Kimberly, of Calgary; his grandchildren: Andrew, Tony, Zackery, Dillan and Terra; brother: Joe (Marie) of PEI, Jerry (Valerie) of North Sydney; sister: Judy, of St. John's; and his long-time partner: Linda O'Quinn; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Martin is predeceased by his father: Patrick Hynes; mother: Pearl (Carter) Hynes; sister: Stella (Hynes) Ludee; brother: Robert (Bob) Hynes; and step-brother: Max Carter. Cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, no flowers by request, instead a donation can be made in Martin's memory to a charity of one's choice.
