It is with great sadness that the family of the late James Patrick FitzGerald Sr. announce his passing on Monday, October 7th, 2024 at the Western Long Term-Palliative Care Unit at the age of 87 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his children: Jim (Wanda), Don (Winnie), Ruth Locke (George), Maureen Murphy (Kevin), and Barbara Callahan (Jerry); grandchildren: Kathy (Scott), Michael, Jason (Dorian), Danika (Derrick), Deicha (Paul), Ryan, Spencer, Kyle, and Maggie; great-grandchildren: Peter, Emma, Sammie, Zarek, Rylan, Isaac, River, and Damien; his sister: Sheila Estob (Ed); and son-in-law: David Ford; as well as a large circle of other relatives, and many friends.

Jim is now reunited with his beloved wife: Gladys; his precious daughter: Karen Ford; parents: Thomas and Mary FitzGerald Sr.; sisters: Marjorie Rosales, Valerie Beales (John); and his brother: Thomas FitzGerald Jr.

The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to the staff of the Mountainview Retirement Center, Western Health 4D Medicine Unit, and the Palliative Care Unit for all of your care and compassion shown to our father during these past months. Your kindness was greatly appreciated and will never be forgotten.

As per Jim's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a small visitation for family and friends taking place on Thursday, October 10th, 2024 at Country Haven Funeral Home from 7-8 PM. There will be no formal funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Jim's memory to your local SPCA.
