"Buzz" Power
September 10, 1947 – December 14, 2024
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James Redmond "Buzz" Power, who left the world on December 14, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. James leaves to mourn, his cherished nephews; Kerry Barry (Loretta) of Lark Harbour and Kevin Power (Lisa) of Pasadena. In 2008, James was privileged to have met his daughter, Persida Graham (Stephan) of Mississauga Ontario. And grandson; Dylon Cook. Daughter; Tammy Power; granddaughter; Emily Porter (Devin) of Gander; And his great-grandchildren. His beloved sister; Judy Barry of Corner Brook and his brothers; Pat Power (Shirley) and Brian Power (Paula), also of Corner Brook. He will be fondly remembered by his sisters-in-law; Wilhelmina Power, Sheila Power, and Eileen Power. He also shared a special friendship with Peggy Pardy and treasured the love of his loyal dog, Peanut. His nieces, nephews, and many dear friends will forever hold his memory close. James was predeceased by his parents; Otto and Bridget Power. His brothers; Edward, Gerald, Kevin, and George. His former wife; Meta and brother-in-law; Monroe Barry and his beloved dog; Cuddles. A kind and gentle soul, James touched the hearts of everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
In keeping with James' wishes, cremation has taken place. A visitation will take place on Wednesday December 18th from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 PM at Country Haven Funeral Home. The funeral service will take place on Thursday December 19th 2024 at 10 AM from the Country Haven Chapel with Father Edward Terry officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or donations can be made in his honour to the S.P.C.A. or a charity of one's choice.
The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Dr. Dunne, the nurses, and staff of the Western Long Term-Palliative Care Unit for their endless support and care of our dear loved one.
