It is with heavy hearts and great sadness the family of the late Ivy Emily King announce her passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on April 12, 2026 at the age of 83. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories her sons Glen (Donna), Wade (Bonnie), and Dean (Anna); her daughters Donna (Wayne) and Patsy (Joe); her grandchildren Vicki (Stephan), Robyn (Jonathan), Ryan (Emily), Angie (Brian), Douglas (Cassandra), Alicia (Bernard), Ashley (Ryan), Jessica (Shawn), Jennifer; her great grandchildren Emily, William, Finn, Charlotte, Lydia, Aiden, Avia, Brooks, Benjamin, Sophie and Ryder; siblings Greta and Eileen; sister-in-law Virginia Bennett and brothers-in-law Rendell Reid, Clyde King and Rex King. She also leaves to mourn a large circle of nieces, nephews and special friends.

Ivy was predeceased by her loving husband of 58 years Douglas, her precious grandson Joshua, her parents Albert and Thamsey Bennett, siblings Myrtle Reid (Sidney), Thelma Reid (Henry), Rita Reid, Florence Reid (Raymond), Edith Brown (Elton), Kathleen Bennett (Reuben), Fred Bennett (Mildred), Morris Bennett (Maude), and Aladdin Bennett.

The family would like to thank MountainView Retirement Centre for her care during the time she resided there, as well as the doctors, nurses and other staff at WMRH. A special thank you to the staff of the palliative care unit for the care they provided during her final days.

There will be a visitation held at Country Haven Funeral Home, 167 Country Road Corner Brook, NL. on Tuesday April 14th 2026 from 2-3pm from where the funeral service will take place at 3pm with Pastor Jamie Rowsell officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. Flowers are graciously accepted or donations can be made to the heart and stroke foundation.
