Isaac "Ike"
Caines
December 15, 1930 – January 2, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Isaac Caines announce his passing on Thursday, January 2, 2025 at the age of 94 years. He leaves to mourn with loving memories, his partner: Gertrude Byrne; daughters: Catherine (Murray), and Joann (Joseph); sister: Geraldine; and grandchildren: Ryan and Jamy; as well as his extended relatives, and many friends.
Ike was predeceased by his parents: John and Elsie; and his son: Chesley (Annabel).
Ike raised his three children in Curling with ex wife Patricia. It was a loving and supportive community of friends and neighbours. He was loved by all who met him. He had a terrific sense of humour and loved the outdoors and everything about Newfoundland. Ike lived a full and happy life of 94 years and was a peaceful and content man and passed quickly and peacefully. He worked for almost 40 years at the Corner Brook Pulp and Paper Mill and loved to tell his family about the ships that came in from all over the world.
Special thanks to the staff at the Lohnes Complex for their care and assistance.
Following his wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Ike's memory to a charity of one's choice.
