It is with great sadness that the family of the late Irene R. Hefford (nee. Barrett) announces her passing at the Corner Brook Palliative Care Unit on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the age of 85 years. She leaves to mourn her son Jim (Mary); Brothers: Noah (June), Wayne (Estelle), Terry (Patsy); Sister-in-law Greta Barrett; special niece Susan Barrett; her extended Hefford family: George, Iris, Terry (Wanda), and Olive; her very considerate neighbours: Dennis Mahoney and Michael Tipple; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Irene is predeceased by her husband James (Jim); parents William E. and Louise Barrett; parents-in-law George and Emily Hefford; and brother Andy. The family would like to extend their thanks to the nurses and staff of the restorative and palliative care unit for their compassion and exceptional care. At Irenes' request cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association.
