Obituary

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Hubert Donald "Don" Gillingham on Thursday March 17 th , 2022, at the age of 92. Born December 20th, 1929, in Corner Brook, Newfoundland, to Levi and Louise (Drover) Gillingham.

Don is survived by his loving wife Lillian, whom he was happily married to for 67 years.  Predeceased by his sister, Irene Stagg. "Don" is the loving father of 7 children: Donny (Charlene), Christine (Rob), Juanita, Mary (predeceased Charles), Cheryl (Larry), Tina and Steve. Grandfather to 15 grandchildren: Michael (Diane), Nicole, Michael (Jessica), Connie (Freddie), Kayla (David), Dylan (Charlotte), Matthew (Chesley), Brittany, Bradley, Victoria, Lloyd, Alana, Ashley, Stephen (Amy), Nicky (Jamy), and great-grandfather to 12 great grandchildren: Ethan, Derek, Blake, Amber, Morgan, Leah, William, Jordan, Ava, Savannah, Anthony, Christian.

"Don" moved to Elora, ON in 1998 with his wife and began working for Cousins & Johnson, retiring in 2014 at the age of 85. He loved his family, going for walks and spending time with his grandchildren. Those who knew him, knew his love for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Toronto Blue Jays. He never missed a game, and his family would always be watching alongside him.

He was a kind man, with a gentle soul who was always willing to help anyone in a time of need. He truly had a heart of gold, and his presence would light up any room he was in.

He will be dearly missed by his entire family and will forever be in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

At his request, no service will be held.
