It is with profound sadness the family of the late Gerard Gregory White announce his passing on May 31, 2026 at Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 67 years.

He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his brother; Joe (Cathy). His sisters; Bernice Nichols, Barb Simmonds, Betty Redshaw (Ron), Mary Vincent (Arthur), Janette Torraville. Sister-in-law; Shirley. Brothers-in-law; Robert Mayo. Also, leaving to mourn, many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and many friends.

He was predeceased by his parents; Richard White and Alita Bourgeois. His brothers; Dave White, Ben White. His sisters; Maureen Mayo and Marie Bennett. Brothers-in-law; Wayne Simmonds and George Nichols.

Born in Curling, he left for Ontario as a teenager where he lived until his diagnosis with MS. He then moved back to NL where he resided at 20 Reid Street Care home until a stroke sent him to hospital in September of 2025 where he would stay until May 31, 2026.

He was a born bachelor, he loved kids, just never had any of his own. He always said he didn’t want the responsibility. One of his favourite things in life was to spend time with family and friends. He enjoyed poker and fast cars.

The family would like to offer a special thank-you to Art and Mary, his caregivers until the end and also, Sheri and Colin who helped make his days a little brighter.

At his request, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time, with plans to be announced at a later date. No flowers by request. Donations can be made in his memory to MS. www.mscanada.ca
