Passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 8, 2017 at the Health Science Complex at the age of 64 years. Leaving to mourn his loving partner, Paulette Quigley, his daughter, Tracy Matthews and son Jay Matthews (Libby), much loved granddaughters, Brittany and Bethany. Also, brothers, Tom (Debbie), Wayne (Winnie), Ralph (Shelley), Dave (Alice), Bernie (Laverne), Brian (Chrissy), Peter (Sharon), John (Tereska), and Desmond and sisters, Gertrude (Jim) McCarthy and Marguerite (Mike) Brightman. Gerald was predeceased by his parents, Ralph George Matthews, Rita Una (Buckle) Matthews and brother Francis John Matthews. In keeping with Gerald's wishes, cremation has taken place. Interment will follow at a later date.
