It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Mckeen Hutchings announced his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Tuesday, August 6th, 2024, at the age of 96 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories his children: Barbara Kelly (Mark), Deana Thompson, Jerry Hutchings (Marlene), David Hutchings (Gale), and Cathie Reid (Jim); grandchildren: Blair, Krista, Ryan, Jodi, Adam, Joshua, Nia, Shane, Ian and Adrienne; great-grandchildren: Corbin, Samuel, Adelyn, Jack, Natalie, Dominic, Raiden, Madison, Colin, Austin, Maddison Roberta, Israel, Liam and Paige; and his brother; Albert Hutchings; as well as a large circle of relatives and friends.

Gerald is predeceased by his Wife Roberta Smith Hutchings (March 20th, 2017). parents: Azariah and Annie Hutchings; parents-in-law: James and Marjorie Crocker; sisters: Fanny Yetman (Ron), Barbara Hutchings, and Catherine Butt (Len); and son-in-law: Peter Thompson.

Gerald was a World War 2 veteran having enlisted in the 166 Royal Artillery at the tender age of 16 years.

At Geralds request, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation for family and friends at Country Haven Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 20th, 2024, at 1:00 PM, followed by a memorial service at 2 PM   in the Country Haven Chapel with Dean Catherine Short officiating. Interment to follow at the Townsite Anglican Cemetery. As expression of sympathy, no flowers by request, instead donations can be made in Gerald's memory to the Children's Wish Foundation or a charity of one's choice.
