It is with great sadness that the family of the late Gerald Francis "Butch" Walsh announce his passing at the Corner Brook Long Term Care on April 13, 2022, at the age of 92 years. Gerald is predeceased by his son Don, his parents Edmund and Rita, beloved stepfather Michael as well as siblings Jim, Joe, Ed, Ron and Mary.

Left to mourn with fond and loving memories are his wife of 65 years, Cora; his children Michael (Patricia), Bob, Carolyn (Keith), Bruce, Corina and Treena; siblings Francis, Ted and Margaret (Tom); brother-in-law George; grandchildren Kyle and Tylore (Philipe) as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Gerald was born in 1929 and began his career with the railroad at a young age. After returning from the Korean war Gerald resumed his life long career with CN rail until his retirement. Gerald will be sadly missed and fondly remembered for his quick wit, sense of humour and dedication to his family.

As per Gerald's request cremation has taken place. A prayer service will be held at Country Haven Funeral Home on Monday, May 2, 2022 from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM. Interment service to take place at Mount Patricia Cemetery on Tuesday, May 3, 2022 at 10:00 AM with Bishop Bart Van Roigen officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made in Gerald's memory to the All Hallows' Roman Catholic Church Humber Road or Corner Brook Royal Canadian Legion Branch 13.
