George Wallace Walters

It is with great sadness that the family of the late George Wallace Walters announce his passing on September 8th, 2026, at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, palliative care unit, in his 87th year. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his beloved wife, Stella (Nee Stone), children: Chris (Debbie), Scott (Elizabeth), Brian (Terri), Elaine (Peter), Paulette (Stephen), Wayne (Kimberly). Ten Grandchildren: Kidman, Izek, Sebastian, Ian, Katie, Daniel, Leah, Jordan, Holly, Myles, Shelby and Sabrina. One great-grandchild, Beckett. One surviving brother, Jim (Cavell).

George was predeceased by his parents Jack and Edith Walters.

Born in Petley Random Island, George, although a hard-working man, also lived a life full of fun and adventure. He knew the importance of balancing a work life and family life. When he was not working, his weekends were filled with outings of fishing, hunting, camping, and spending time with his family. He was also known for spending time in his shed puttering around, busying himself often with things that did not need fixing.

As per George’s request, cremation has taken place. Family and friends are invited to visit Country Haven Funeral Home on Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 1:00 - 2:30 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 2:30 PM in the Country Haven Chapel with Rev. Ed King officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in George's memory to the Western Regional Hospital Foundation (Palliative Care Unit).

He will be greatly missed by everybody who knew him.
