Obituary

It is with profound sadness that the family of George Spracklin announce his sudden passing at home on August 10, 2023, a few weeks shy of his 83rd birthday.  Dad grew up in Corner Brook and he was a true ambassador for the city. He was an amazing all-around athlete, playing hockey, baseball and softball at all levels. Right out of high school he joined the telephone company where he started at the top of a pole and kept rising further above to become a revered manager and leader. He loved the outdoors and everything that came with it, especially a good old boil-up and berry picking with Mom, A cod fry up, homemade bread, partridge berry jam and a sweet for breakfast, all ranked at the very top. A Friday visit to the Westmount Club was not to be missed. He was an amazing dad, grandfather, great grandfather, friend and neighbour; Always willing to listen, help, offer advice and guidance. He was one of the smartest and wisest dads ever. George is survived by his two daughters, Rochelle Spracklin (Ian Stewart) and Karlyne Spracklin (Bob Best). His beloved grandchildren Meaghan Pike (Jared Hart), Kathleen Leger (Joey Leger), Evelyn O'Driscoll (Micahl Komtos) Rory O' Driscoll and Mitchell Best (Grace Carty). Great Grandchildren, Briar, Henry and Barrett Hart, Isabelle Leger, Ada and Bryna Stewart. Special Step Grandchildren, Matthew Stewart (Deidre), Hilary Stewart (Greg) and Graeme Stewart (Sandy).
