It is with great sadness that the family of the late Genevive Elizabeth Payne announce her passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital, on Sunday, February 22nd, 2026 at the age of only 58 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband: Brent Payne; two sons: Robert Park, and his wife Kayla Park who was her devoted caregiver for many years; and Marvin Park (Camille Thistle); sisters: Tammy Park (Darren), Lori Brown (Eugene), and Betty; grandchildren, who were her pride and joy: Damien, and Jacqueline; special great-nephew: Baby Billy; mother-in-law: Anita Payne; brother-in-law: Barry Payne (Josie); sisters-in-law: Sandra O'Connor (Shawn), and Sonya Parish (Josh); as well as her other nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and many, many friends.

Genevieve was predeceased by her parents: David and Hilda Park; father-in-law: Kevin Payne; and her nephew/brother: Jamie Park.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of WMRH-ICU, and the Dialysis Unit for their kindness and support; and to Jessie Snow, her guardian angel, your care and compassion offered during Genevieve's sickness will never be forgotten.

There will be a visitation taking place for family and friends at the St. Nicholas Anglican Church, Cox's Cove, on Tuesday, February 24th, 2026 from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 2 PM on Wednesday, February 25th, 2026 with Rev. Terry Loder officiating. Interment to follow at the church cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Genny's memory to a charity of one's choice.
