It is with great sadness the family of the late Gary Anstey announce his passing on March 19, 2026 at the Palliative Care Unit of the Western Long-term Care, Corner Brook at the age of 69 years.  Gary was a friend to all that knew him. His passion in life was going fishing and playing crib. His most important traits were the love he had for his family, and his ability to just sit down and listen to others. Gary fought, for decades, a courageous battle with diabetes.  His two obsessions in life were his wife Linda (who passed away with cancer), and his fur-baby MaiTai (who now has a forever home).

Gary is survived by his sisters; Joy, Shirley (Mike), and Rosellena. His brothers; Francis (Denise), Gerry (Sherry), and Darren (Jennifer). His niece/nephews: Sarah, Michael, Phillip, Tyler, Patrick, Jeremy, and Zachary. His great-nephews: Evan, Sylas, Stryder, Riley, and young Arlo (whom Gary, thoroughly enjoyed spending time with). Sister-in-law; Linda.

Gary was predeceased by his wife Linda, his mother; Helen. His father; Cyril. His brother; Kenneth, and his brother-in-law; Dave.A special note, from Gary, to his Aunt Cathey whom he got to spend time with; "I love you Aunt Cathey."

There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. These will be announced at a later date. No flowers by request, in lieu of flowers a donation in Gary's memory can be made to The Diabetes Association. https://diabetes.ca/
