-Florence and family.
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Freeman George Cook announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Friday, March 14th, 2025 at the age of 78 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his wife of 55 years: Florence; sisters-in-law: Bonnie (Ron Bouzan); Marilyn (Stirling James), Lisa (Wade Mayo), Shirely (Steven Fequet), and Mary Humber; and brother-in-law: Fred Humber (Irene); as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many devoted friends.
Freeman was predeceased by his father: Freeman Cook Sr.; mother: Mary Cook; brother: John; mother and father-in-law: Stella and Cyril Humber; brother-in-law: Eric Humber; and sister-in-law: Madonna (Al Harvey).
Freeman loved camping with Florence in their trailer. He was always up for a good game of skat and 120's. He enjoyed travelling and spending time with their many friends. Freeman was a good, quiet spirit but always had a comical, funny "Freeman" joke to bring on a smile.
The family wishes to extend a very special thank you to all the doctors, nurses, and staff of WMRH-5B for their professionalism and kindness shown to Freeman over the past several months. Also, thank you to the many friends who were always there to offer their support, and who were like family.
There will be a visitation taking place at Country Haven Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 19th, 2025 from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM. The funeral service will take place at 2 PM on Thursday, March 20th, 2025 in the Country Haven Chapel with Rev. Effie Organ officiating. Interment to take place at a later date. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Freeman's memory to a charity of one's choice.
"Your smiles have made me glad, and for that I am thankful."
