It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of our dad, a loving husband to our mother, a dedicated father, poppy, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Frederick Thomas Price passed at the age of 69 years, on Tuesday, February 8th, 2022 at the Health Science Center in St. John's, NL.
He leaves to mourn with cherished and loving memories his wife of 38 years Veronica (Lee); his daughters Tonya (Lee) Bennett, Leeann (Chris) Burton; The source of his biggest pride and joy, his grandchildren, Emily, Sophia, Brianna, and Pop's little man Wyatt; Brothers Ray (Joan) Price, Eddy (Mavis) Price, Donald (Chris) Price, Gord Price, Gary (Debbie) Price; His sisters Elaine (Bruce) Hall and Sharon Price; a very large circle of extended family and friends.
He is predeceased by his mother Olive and father Wilson Henry Price; his mother-in-law Gertrude and father-in-law Thomas Lee; along with many special family and friends, especially his furry sidekick Cody.
Fred was born February 3rd, 1953 in Corner Brook, NL where he lived all of his life and raised his family. Fred married the love of his life, Vonnie, on February 4th, 1984. He loved her whole heartedly and thought the absolute world of her, he was happiest when she was happy.
He was a loving father who would do absolutely anything for his children without hesitation. This was evident in many ways whether it be sponsoring Tonya's hockey team, being instrumental in the development of the female hockey division in Corner Brook. He made sure Leeann had those tires changed on her vehicle for winter, or running her a lunch to work. He ensured they never wanted for anything. He spoke with absolute pride about his children, his big blue eyes lighting up whenever talking of them. When his girls married, he took in their husbands like his own and made sure they didn't want for anything.
The grandchildren owned his heart, to say he loved those kiddos with all of his being would be an understatement. He did anything and everything for them, whether it was building them a playground at the cabin or making a sliding hill with the loader. A child at heart himself, with joy, he answered their requests and would do anything to put a smile on their little faces.
"Bert"(Fred) leaves behind his lifetime friend "Ernie! (Karl Wyatt) A friendship built on the love of big trucks, tractors, grease and oil. Years of running a business together, to making sure every driveway on top of the hill was snow cleared in the winter, and going for a "randy" around town to see what was what. They were a bond like no other.
We are going to miss every part of your being, that big teddy bear hug, that hearty laugh, the endless phone calls, and the unconditional love you had for all of us. We love you until we meet again.
Private visitation to be held at Country Haven Funeral Home on Friday, February 11, 2022. The funeral service is to take place on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at 10:00 AM at The Most Holy Redeemer Cathedral, Mount Bernard Avenue, with Father Terry officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy no flowers by request, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Corner Brook Girls Minor Hockey.
"So, head into the sunset Dad and wait for us." Birdie, your Pumpkin will meet you again.
