It is with great sadness that the family of the late Frederick “Buck” James Lyver announce his passing at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Saturday, October 31, 2026 at the age of 75 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his partner of 16 years: Cavell Payne; his children: Craig Lyver, and Collin Lyver (Lori-Lynn); Cavell’s children: Jody Payne (Kim), and Joni Park (Whitney); grandchildren: Corey-Leigh (DJ Penney), and Cole & Ava; great-grandchildren: Kaylee, Zendaya, Laynee, Walker, Maverick, and Harlow; Cavell’s grandchildren & great-grandchildren: Jake, Jordyn, Kenda, Melanie, Wesley and William; sisters: Maude Penney (Roy), Isabell Wheaton (Tom), and Doreen Jeffery; and his many brothers and sisters in law; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Buck was predeceased by his wife: Diane Lyver (nee. Murphy); son: Corey Lyver; parents: James and Theresa Lyver; parents-in-law: Peter and Anita Murphy; sisters: Joan Coggins, Beatrice Parnell, and Mary Montgomery; step-sisters: Theresa Rumbolt, and Genevieve White; nephew: Mark Murphy; and his brother-in-law: Terrance Murphy (Rose).

In following Buck’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be no formal visitation or funeral service at this time. A private graveside service for family to take place. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Buck’s memory to the Canadian Heart and Stroke Foundation, or a charity of one’s choice.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff of the WMRH-4th floor, ICU, for their kindness and compassion shown to Buck and his family during his time of need.
