It is with great sadness that the family of Eugene Thomas Hamlyn announce his passing on Wednesday, May 21st, 2025 at the Western Long-Term Palliative Care Unit at the age of 76 years. He leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, his sons: Mark (Stephanie), and Craig (Tanya); daughter: Laura (Ashley); grandchildren: Denika, Matthew, Lavender, Jared, Parker, and Peyton; sisters: Juanita, Bernetta, and Judy; and his brothers: Blaine, Dion, Randy, Eric, Ernie, Barry, Rudy, and Ben; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Eugene was predeceased by his wife: Jean; sister: Doris; father: Howard; mother: Georgina; step-mom: Josie; Gram Brenton; and Gram Rumbolt.

Eugene worked with Churchill Falls for 32 years, where he made many friends. He enjoyed time with is family, fishing, hunting, gardening, and a good game of cards. Eugene retired and moved to Corner Brook where he enjoyed the rest of his years.

In following Eugene's wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation taking place on Saturday, May 24th, 2025 at Country Haven Funeral Home from 10 AM – 11 AM, from where the funeral service will be taking place at 11 AM in the Country Haven Chapel with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in Eugene's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
