Eric Douglas Clarke passed away peacefully on January 14, 2023 in Corner Brook, Newfoundland and Labrador with those he loved by his side.

Our family is so appreciative for all the love and care he received from the staff at the Restorative Care Unit in Corner Brook. Every member of the health care team treated him like one of their own. We are so grateful that they got to know him and appreciate his sense of humour, quick wit, kindness and compassion.

Eric/Dad/Papa will be remembered as an incredible dancer, who had a passion for music (especially Dolly Parton and anything that had a good beat) and antique cars (for which he could name every make, model and detail). He had his own peculiar way of doing things and was meticulous - sometimes to a fault. He loved his daughters and grandchildren dearly. His twinkly eyes and impish grin, his kindness and silliness along with his love for his family and pride in 'his girls' was recognized and appreciated by all that had the pleasure of knowing him.

Dad, we hope that you are having a jive to your favourite tune while enjoying a little swally.

Eric is survived by his daughters; Gillian (Colin), Erin (Mark) and their mother Sharon. His five grandchildren; Lily, Ellen, Nate, Ian and Drew hold fond memories of their Papa and will miss his silly videos and treats. His siblings; Tont/Joe (Karin), Lillian (Tom), Judy, Dave (Marie) and brother-in-law Jack. Predeceased by his parents; Joe and Sadie, and sister, Rosalind.

Cremation has taken place. A celebration of life to happen in Kelligrews; his home, during the summer of 2023. Further details TBD.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Canadian Down Syndrome Society, L'Arche Saint John or the Special Olympics to support his grandson, Ian and others with altered abilities. Eric shared a special bond with Ian; the "little ladabuck" and believed firmly in his potential to reach the stars.
