It is with great sadness the family announces the passing of our much-loved mother and grandmother, Eileen Warren. Eileen passed peacefully on Tuesday August 18th 2026 at the palliative care unit of Western Long-Term Care in Corner Brook NL. at the age of 77 years. Eileen’s family are forever grateful to have been by her side.
Leaving to mourn her loss are her children. Her son; Glenn (Kim). Daughters; Helen, and Marie (Perry). Bonus daughter; Wanda. Grand-daughters; Kerri, Hayley, Jade and Jorja. Bonus grand-children; Kyle, Shawna and Maggie. Eileen also leaves behind brothers; Jim, Clayton, and Henry (Flora). Sisters: Winnie, and Ruby (Lou); Sister-in-law; Alice as well as a large circle of nephews, nieces, and other family members and many close friends whom she considered her family.
Eileen was predeceased by her parents Philip and Marie Hare, her partner; Edwin Mackenzie. Brothers; Gordon, Philip and Calvin. Sister; Thelma. Sisters-in-law; Mary and Dianne. Brothers-in-law; Wilfred and Lindsey, along with the father of her children; William Warren and many friends who were special to her.
Eileen was born in Burgeo on October 18, 1948 and that’s where she worked and raised her family until 1994 when she made the move to Dartmouth NS. to spend many years closer to her baby girl Marie. And like Thelma and Louise, 29 years later they decided to take one big road trip and this brought her back to Corner Brook, NL. where her wishes were granted to live back in Newfoundland and Labrador closer to all of her family.
Eileen was always up for an adventure and wanted to be in the middle of everything and loved a good story, whether she told it or someone else did. She always greeted everyone with a smile and her laughter was contagious.
Eileen cherished her friends and family she made over the years while she worked at Lawton’s and later at Dalhousie in Dartmouth, NS. Those times left her with many lasting memories. Lately, you could find her reading her romance novels or catching up with all the news on Facebook, which she loved since it reconnected her with so many loved ones.
We will remember you always, talk about you often and love you forever.
A visitation will be held at St. John the Evangelist Anglican Church in Burgeo, NL. from the hours of 7-9pm on Sunday August 23rd 2026 and a funeral service will take place on Monday August 24th 2026 at 2PM. With Rev. Brenda Strickland officiating.
