July 3, 1930 – March 19, 2025
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Eileen Grace Oake announce her peaceful passing surrounded by her loving family, at the Corner Brook Long Term Care Center, on Wednesday March 19th, 2025 at the age of 94 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her siblings: Margaret Aylward (Donald), Marie Cole, Joan Taylor (Bryan), and Brian Spencer (Mary); nieces and nephews: Cindy Hynes (Frank), Judy Snelgrove (Craig), Wayne Spencer (Maxine), Christine Osmond (Roger), Keith Spencer (Susan), Ken Spencer (Princelene), Kerry Spencer (Lorraine), Karen Colford, Kirk Spencer (Karen), Penny Power (Ryan), Chad Spencer (Tanya), Jill Bell (Brendon), and Alex Taylor (Liza). Sister-in-law; Vicki Spencer as well as a very large circle of great-nieces and nephews, other relatives, and many friends.
Eileen is predeceased by her loving husband: Robert Oake (2016); parents: Alexander and Winnie Spencer; brothers: Fred Spencer, and Bert Spencer; nephew: Donald Spencer; niece: Pansy Curtis; and brother-in-law: Ray Cole.
Eileen and Robert were longtime residents of Country Road, Corner Brook. Eileen and Robert started and ran a successful business, Broadway Textile, for 31 years. They both enjoyed life to the fullest, having a cabin in Bonne Bay Pond, and taking many trips to Florida and other vacation destinations over the years. They are reunited once again.
At Eileen's request, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation taking place at Country Haven Funeral Home on Friday, March 21st, 2025 from the hours of 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 11 AM on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025 in the Country Haven Chapel with Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Columbarium Park. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Eileen's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
