It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that the family of the late Edna Elizabeth Flight announce her peaceful passing on Friday, February 9th, 2024 at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital at the age of 92 years. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her sons: Gordon (Sylvia), Graham, Oliver and Cyril Jr.; daughters: Phyllis (John), Myra, and Ellen; a large number of grandchildren: Michelle (Ken), Sylvia, Jenna, Dennis (Amy), Steven (Kelly), Brian, Herbie Jr., Justin, Tyson and Joshua; great-grandchildren: Mackenzie, Madison, Faith, Colton and Connor; as well as her loving sister: Olive King, whom she was close with; her special nephew: Bruce E. Simms; and also a large of circle of other nieces, nephews, relatives, and many friends. Edna is predeceased by her husband: Cyril Flight; their son: David Flight; parents: Abraham and Helen Simms; and brothers Herbie (Eliza), Gideon (Glennet) and Harvey.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Edna's homecare workers, Glynis Ropson and Wanda Pearce, for taking such good care of our dear mother. Also a thank you to the wonderful doctors, nurses, and staff at the Western Memorial Regional Hospital for their exceptional care and compassion shown during mom's stay.

There will be a visitation held on Monday, February 12th, 2024 at Country haven Funeral Home from the hours of 2-4 PM. Visitation to continue at Mt. Carmel Pentecostal Church, Howley, NL on Tuesday, February 13th, 2024 from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM, from where the funeral service will take place at 2 PM on Wednesday, February 14th, 2024 with Pastor David Gifford officiating. Interment to follow at the church Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edna's memory to the Mt. Carmel Pentecostal Church, Howley, NL.
