Dorothy
Noel
March 6, 1931 – October 26, 2025
It is with profound sadness and deep love that we announce the passing of Dorothy Noel, who left this world peacefully on October 26, 2025, at Bethany House in Didsbury, Alberta, surrounded by family.
She was born on March 6, 1931, in Little Harbour East, Placentia Bay, Newfoundland. Dorothy later moved to Corner Brook, where she married her kind and gentle husband. Together, they made Corner Brook their home for more than 74 years, building a loving family, cherished friendships, and a life filled with joy and treasured memories.
Dorothy will be forever cherished by her children:
Yvonne (Donald) Bonia, Michael Noel, Janet (Joe) Griffin, Christine (Jeff) Morris, Terrilynn (David) Hardy, David (Janice) Noel, and daughter-in-law Beverley Noel. She is also lovingly remembered by her sister Hazel Amfaldern and her sister-in-law Rona Noel.
She was blessed with a large and devoted family — 20 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and 4 great-great-grandchildren — each one a source of immense joy and pride.
Dorothy is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband Ethelbert Noel (March 29, 2023); her daughter Catherine (October 13, 2024); her son Marcel (November 1, 2016); great grandson Vincent Glynn (August 26, 2023) her parents Charles and Evelyn Upshall; her brother Samuel (Edith) Upshall; sisters Lillian (Rocco) Pertio, Mary (Donald) Joseph, Clara (Herbert) Cramm, and brother-in-law Peter Amfaldern, along with many loved ones who have gone before her.
Dorothy's life was defined by love — boundless, steady, and unconditional. She devoted her heart to her family, always putting their needs before her own. After her husband's passing, she moved to Alberta to be close to those who could care for her in return — a circle of love that never once broke. Thanks to modern technology, she remained closely connected to family near and far, with cherished phone calls, FaceTime conversations, photos, and videos that filled her days with laughter and warmth.
She was our mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great-grandmother — the heart of our family. Her kindness, strength, and gentle presence will continue to guide us for the rest of our lives.
We will gather in Newfoundland during the summer of 2026 to celebrate her beautiful life with as many family and friends as possible. Details will be shared once arrangements are confirmed.
Mom, Nan — thank you for loving us so fully and unconditionally, and for allowing us to love you in return.
Your presence will remain in our hearts forever, guiding and comforting us every day.
"Loved deeply, remembered always."
