It is with great sadness that the family of the late Doreen Fitzgerald announce her passing on Sunday, February 4th, 2024 at the Western Long-Term Care-Valley Side, in her 82nd year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her son: John Fitzgerald (Joanne); son-in-law: Stephen Pender; precious granddaughter: Zoe Doreen Pender; and a large circle of other relatives and many friends.

Doreen is predeceased by her husband: William John (Jack) Fitzgerald; daughter: Kelly Ann Pender; her parents: Allan and Hannah Curnew; and brother: Allan Curnew.

The family wishes to extend a sincere thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of the Western Long-Term Care for their care and compassion shown during our mothers stay.

There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, February 6th, 2024 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM from where the funeral service will take place at 2 PM on Wednesday, February 7th, 2024 at the St. John the Evangelist Anglican Cathedral with Rev. Katherine Short and Rev. David Russell officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Doreen's memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.
