It is with great sadness that the family of the late Emma Doreen Burton announce her passing on Sunday, November 12th, 2023 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care in her 84th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her children: William (Ines) of British Columbia, Len, Rick and Pamela all of Corner Brook; her three grand children: Michael, Cassie both in Corner Brook and Angelina in B.C.; sister: Pat (George) Perrett of Curling; her brothers: Donald in long term care, and Lloyd (Christina) of Bonne Bay Pond; sisters-in-law: Marion Hull, Elizabeth Hann, and Ruby Pelley all of Corner Brook, and Ella Lucas of South Carolina; and brother-in-law Fred (Sylvia) of Corner Brook.

Doreen was born July 12, 1939 in Petries, to Chesley Pelley and Frona (Barnes) Pelley. She loved to knit, crochet and quilt. She loved bowling many years ago and playing bingo. She loved camping especially with dad and the dogs at the cabin. She was well known for her love and skill in the kitchen. She was especially known for her date squares and coconut cream pies.

At her request, cremation has taken place, there will be no formal visitation or funeral service at the time. Interment to take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to charity of one's choice.
