It is with great sadness that the family of the late Dorcas Irene Guinchard announce her passing on January 8, 2025 at the Western Long Term-Palliative Care Unit at the age of 90 years. She will always be remembered for her generosity, selflessness, and her strength of character. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories children: Wayde (Myrtle), Glenda (Kenneth), Gary (Donna), Larry (Regina), Faye, and Sherry (John); grandchildren: Keith (Karen), Annette (Derrick), David (Ashley), Scott (Chelsey), Ashley (Lee), Robert (Niki), Colitta (Andy), Melanie (Dustin), Amanda, Michelle (Chris), Heather, Mark (Robin), Chad (Keisha), Jennifer (Dan) and Ryan; great-grandchildren: Brooklyn, Mason, Erin, Caleb, Christian, Kate, Tyson, Hayden, Lexie, Liam, Colton, Brady, Natalie, James, and Chloe; brother: Roland (Joyce); and sister: Nancy (Ivan); brother-in-law: George Rose; sisters-in-law: Ina (John) Randell, and Evelyn Guinchard; and brother-in-law Bruce Guinchard; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Dorcas was predeceased by her husband: Lawrence Rufus Guinchard; parents: Constance and Roland Way; parents-in-law: Rufus and Prudence Guinchard; brothers: Henry Way (and wife Mary), Bruce (and wife Jane), Howard (and wife Suzanne); and her sisters: Vivian Way, and Effie Rose.

There will be a visitation held on Monday, January 13, 2025 at St David's Anglican Church, Pasadena, NL from the hours of 7-9 PM. The funeral will take place on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at 2 PM with Rev. Kris Gosse officiating. Internment to follow at the Anglican Cemetery, Church Street, Pasadena. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Dorcas' memory to the Arthritic Society, Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to a charity of one's choice.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to her home support workers who made her life most comfortable.
