It is with great sadness that the family of the late Doily Matilda Penney (nee. Baldwin) announce her passing on Thursday, August 24th, 2023 at the Corner Brook Long Term Care in her 79th year. She leaves to mourn with fond and loving memories, her husband: Donald Penney; two daughters: Donna (Jean-Marc) of Mount Pearl, Vicki (Linda) of Toronto; two special grandchildren: Sarah, and Eric of Mount Pearl; sisters: Frances Brake, Maud Knee (Ben), and Ruth Saunders (Harry); brothers: Daniel Baldwin (Ethel); brothers and sisters-in-law: Tom Hussey, Shirley Baldwin, Ruth Courtenay (Mike), Ruby Small, Jean Murphy, Ella Terry (Rod), Barbara Blackwood (Terry), Cindy Murphy, Allan Murphy (Phrona), Wilfred Murphy (Arlene), Ernest Murphy, Daniel Murphy (Linda), and Anita Baldwin; as well as a large circle of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends.

Doily is predeceased by her parents: John Joseph and Gertrude Baldwin of Cox's Cove; sisters: Laura Mercer (William), Ida Gough (Selby), and Peggy Hussey; brothers: Walter Baldwin (Buddy), David Baldwin, Malcolm "Mick" Baldwin, Archibald Baldwin, and Gilbert Baldwin; parents-in-law: Lenora and Roland Murphy of Summerside; sister-in-law: Clara Baldwin; and brothers-in-law: Selwyn Crocker, and Gerald Small.

At Doily's request, cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation held on Tuesday, August 29th, 2023 at Country Haven Funeral Home from the hours of 1-3 PM from where the funeral service will take place at 3 PM in the Country Haven Chapel with Rev. Kay Short officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Doily's memory to your local SPCA.
