Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that Diane Lewis-Anstey (68) passed from her earthly home to be with her mother Hilda, her dad Albert & her brother Wayne and her two fur babies Annie and Luna. She was also predeceased by her mother-in-law Brenda Anstey

She leaves to mourns her husband Brian of 28 years, her son Brandon (Julie), the love of her life, her stepdaughter Anne-Marie Anstey, her step grandchildren, Chelsea, Isabelle, Kingston, Everlee, and Aurora. Adopted son Cory Pennell. Also leaving to mourn, her father-in-law Ed (Doreen), brother-in-law Gerard, numerous other relatives & friends. Special thanks to Justine Webber, Barb Wiseman, Brenda Ginn and Pauline Dingwell for their love & support over the years especially in the last number of months.

Diane's passion for helping others allowed her to have a fantastic nursing Career spanning 50 years. Diane has touched the lives of so many people. Diane was known at work as the Powder Queen, a fitting description of how she pampered her patients. She worked in Medicine, SICU, Endoscopy Unit, Day Surgery & Recovery Room at Western Memorial Regional Hospital. She took her ICU course at Ryerson & worked at Toronto General. She worked at Health Sciences Centre and Dartmouth General. After retirement in 2014 she was doing locums at Stanton Territorial Hospital in Yellowknife, NWT for 7 years. She was loved by everyone she worked with.

Special thanks to the Nursing Staff of 5C & Palliative Care Western Memorial for there exceptional care & compassion. Thank you to Doctor Bob O'Driscoll for his expertise & friendship over the years and the many visits he had with Diane.

There are so many others who visited and gave support to Diane over the years, you know who you are. Thanks to Rev. Oliver Dingwell for his visits while she was at Health Sciences in St.

John's and while he was home in January. Thanks to Rev. Jocelyn Cook for your visits, your care and compassion was so much appreciated. Special thanks to Diane's cousin Ronalda Ann Morris for the number of trips from Nova Scotia over the past 18 months.

Funeral services will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 10:30 AM with Rev. Dingwell and Rev. Jocelyn Cook officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery, following interment, there will be a celebration or for Dianes life at Bennett Hall on West Street. As expressions of Sympathy donations can be made to The Long Range Shrine Club or a charity of ones choice.
