Denise Madonna
Crocker
May 14, 1954 – April 4, 2026
It is with a deep love and regard for our beautiful sister, that on her birthday, we announce the passing of Denise McLennon Crocker, in her home of Corner Brook Long Term Care, on April 4th, 2026 at the age of 71.
Denise was pre-deceased by her father Wilfred McLennon and mother Madge McLennon, her brother Sean McLennon, her sister Janet Vartanyan, and her husband Alex Crocker.
Born in 1954 in Corner Brook, NL, Denise lived a life of love and passion for her family and friends, for travel, the arts and a deep faith in God. While attending high school, Denise was an avid participant and team member recognized by her long-time friends from high school within several Filipino Dance teams, a pipe and drum band, athletic teams, excelling within all gracefully. Her love of art and sewing shone through over the years and she took great pride and care within her employment, especially within the sectors of human rights and banking.
Denise was a gifted, beautiful and faithful human, humble, strong and insightful, loving, always grateful and giving and full of grace. Her strength shone through especially throughout her wellness challenges. She was truly an optimist, humbly offering sage, thoughtful, loving advice in times when our family and others needed it the most. She felt so loved and grateful for our family, for life itself. Denise was compassionate, gentle, spirited, and joyful, especially joyful in these last few years, living gratefully each day, come sunshine, rain, or snow. She grew an affinity in recent years for hair color; vibrant pinks, purples and blues, (even matching glasses) which had a way of cheering her up along with those around her.
She saw the good in everything and everyone, amid challenging times and was steadfast, looking onward and upward. She was our hero.
Denise loved the Lord’s Prayer and so fittingly her favorite Psalm was Psalm 100:
Make a joyful noise
To the Lord all the earth
Serve the Lord with gladness
Come into his presence with singing
Know that the Lord he is God
It is he who made us and we are his
We are his people and the sheep of his pasture
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
And his courts with praise
Give thanks to him bless his name
For the Lord is good
His steadfast love endures forever
And his faithfulness to all generations
We are blessed for all care and respect Denise was granted over the years in her care most recently in NL including in particular the dedicated staff of Xavier House and Corner Brook’s Long-Term Care who provided the care and support to Denise and her family.
Helen Keller is a wonderful person and role model to remember as we remember Denise. This quote will continue to inspire us as Denise has always and will continue to into the future:
“What we have once enjoyed we can never lose. All that we love deeply becomes part of us.” – Helen Keller.
A Celebration of Life will take place this summer.
