It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David Reginald John Williams, age 80, of Curling, NL who left us peacefully on January 13, 2025, holding his daughter's hands. Born on July 19, 1944, in Curling, NL, Dave was the devoted husband of Phyllis Joan Williams, and cherished father to Debbie van Staden (Anton), and Krista Nantau (David). Dave was also a loving grandfather to Marc and Cheyenne Deller, AC and Rene van Staden, and Ethan Nantau.

Dave led a life full of hard work, love, and dedication. Growing up in Curling, NL, he was known for not being a pushover, and someone you definitely wanted in your corner. Dave went on to build a career as a Carpenter/Millwright at Bowater Inc, where he earned the respect of his co-workers and made enduring lifelong friendships. Outside of work, Dave found immense joy making memories with his family at the cabin, playing darts, pool, cards and many boat rides on the lake.  Friends and family will fondly remember his larger-than-life smile, contagious laugh, and kindness to always lend a helping hand when asked.

Dave is survived by his loving daughters Debbie and Krista; Sister Verna Buckle, Fredrick (Winnie) Williams, and Raymond (Linda) Williams; Brothers-in-law Rex Park and Phonse Keough; and his dearest nephew Edgar Williams. Dave was predeceased by his loving and devoted wife Phyllis Williams of 52 years, Parents Frederick Sr. and Gladys Williams, brother Albert Williams, sisters Ethel (Edward) Blackler-Pike, Julia Park, Olive (Peter) Colford-Hunt, Elizabeth Keough, Marjorie (Everett) Barriault; and Brother-in-law Lloyd Buckle.

Our sincerest thanks to all the staff at the Bungalows #4 and Western Long-Term Care Balsam View House 4th-floor for their exceptional care and treating our dad like he was one of their own. Visitation will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home on Thursday, January 16, 2025, from the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 pm from where a funeral service will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11 am with Pastor Jessica Edwards officiating. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, flowers are graciously accepted, or a donation can be made in Dave's memory to a charity of one's choice.

Though Dave is no longer with us, his spirit and the memories we all shared with him will live on through those who knew and loved him.
