The family of the late David Hicks would like to express our heartfelt thank you for all of your love and support shown to us during this extremely difficult time. 

Thank you to all who attended the visitation and funeral service and offered support. We are so grateful to those who sent food, cards, flowers, and donations in his memory. 

Special thank you to the doctors, nurses, and staff of WMRH-5A for the care you all provided to David during his time of need. Most heartfelt thank you to the staff of Mountainview Retirement Home for his care. To his many friends he made during his past 3 years, thank you for your kindness shown to David. 

Thank you to Rev. Jocelyn Cook for officiating such a beautiful service. 

Thank you to the readers, the urn bearer, and the tribute to Uncle Dave. He would have been so honoured and proud!

It is with great sadness the family of David Hicks announce his passing at Western Memorial Regional Hospital on Friday May 29th 2026 at the age of 85 with family by his side.

He leaves to mourn his three brothers and three sisters; Bruce (Geraldine), Doreen Antle (Max), Roy (Nora), Linda Basha (Mike Deceased), Jerry (Christine) and Eileen (Jerry Wells).

Nieces and Nephews; Kevin Hicks (Kelly), Karen Colbourne (Sean), Rodney Antle (Susan), Joy Bennett (Dion), Tammy Young (Mike), Peter Antle (Terri), Barry Hicks (Helen), Cory Basha (Deanne), Mark Hicks (Deanne), Paul Piercey (Wetshi), Corinna Basha (Ronnie), Lance Piercey (Melissa), Tim Piercey, and Monica Clement (Eric).

Great nieces and nephews Tyler, Sarah, Hillary, Ryan, Andrew, Nicholas, Joshua, Sam, Max, Ryan, Carter, Sophie, Chloe, Liam, Nathan, Charlotte, Josh, Emma, Laura and Emily. He leaves behind other family members and friends especially the ones at Mountain View Retirement Home.

David was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Marjorie (Hussey) Hicks.

The family would like to thank the staff at 5a at WMRH along with Karen and the staff at Mountain View Retirement Home for his care over the past 3 year. Their kindness and compassion shown to David did not go unnoticed. He appreciated all who cared for him.

Cremation has taken place. There will be a visitation at Country Haven Funeral Home on Sunday June 14th 2026 from 7-9PM. The funeral service will take place at Country Haven Funeral Home Chapel on Monday June 15th 2026 at 11 AM.This will be live streamed via Country Haven's Facebook Page. Interment to follow at Mount Patricia Cemetery.

Donations can be made in his memory to the Epilepsy Association.
